Ontario and Pennsylvania Present at Exponer 2007
TradeChile S.A. is a leading consultant in international trade and investment and has 11 years of experience in facilitating access to the Chilean market incorporating export assistance and promoting foreign branding. TradeChile is proud to be the official representative in Chile for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, since 1998 and the Province of Ontario, since 2001. Both regions have had a strong presence in the Chilean mining sector and will have several companies participating at Exponor 2007.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the leader in the United States in providing international market development assistance to Pennsylvania companies. Through Pennsylvania's Center for Trade Development (CTD), companies are given access to a global network of trade representatives who provide in-country expertise.
Pennsylvania companies participating in Exponor 2007 can provide needed, high quality products and services to Chile's mining sector. For example, CMR USA, LLC is a world leader in specialized systems for monitoring industrial and marine engine parameters. Chile represents a special opportunity for them due to the heavy industries associated with mining.
Rogers Brothers Corporation is a 102-year old manufacturer of low bed heavy-haul trailers. Mark Kulyk of Rogers Brothers stated that "Exponor offers Rogers Brothers the chance to meet construction and mining customers from all parts of South America. We want to introduce our trailers to a new generation of customers."
J&J Truck Equipment, producers of heavy-duty lubrication, mechanics and dump trucks, sees Exponor as an opportunity to provide quality equipment to Chile's mining industry. A&M International represents several Pennsylvania companies with products in the market such as laboratory equipment, parts for industrial gas companies, safety equipment, and services related to products and services consulting. Douglas Drill Services, Inc., a leader in providing machinery, equipment, parts and technical service and support to the drilling industry, is visiting Chile to further promote their existing presence in the South American mining and construction industries.
Geo-Solutions provides world-wide services to companies dealing with difficult soil and ground water problems. It also markets a number of specialized technologies to create deep underground barriers and deep collector drains. Curry Supply is one of America's largest manufacturers/dealers of service vehicles in the United States. Serving the mining, construction, waste, equipment dealer, railroad and utility markets across North America, Curry Supply is expanding their business internationally with a strategic focus on Chile. Lengard Diesel Engine Protection Systems have been protecting all makes and types of diesel engines for over 30 years. Lengard Services Inc. will bring this cost saving system to the Chilean mining industry. Visit the Pennsylvania Exhibit in the U.S.A. Pavilion at stand 61.
Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell has implemented a $15 million World Trade initiative, which quadrupled the state's international development budget to accelerate and expand current trade and investment activities and increase the state's global competitiveness. This initiative will allow for Chilean businesses to tap into a wealth of Pennsylvania goods and services.
Ontario's world-renowned mining industry has a rich heritage and an even brighter future.
Mineral production topped $7.2 billion in 2006, the highest level since the late 1980's. Companies spent more than $360 million in 2006 on exploration and deposit appraisals. Billions more are being invested annually in mining development.
Add this industry growth to our wealth of mining experience, knowledge of 'best practices' and recognized ability to address tough mining challenges anywhere in the world. The result? An Ontario mining equipment and services sector that is second to none.
Mining equipment and services firms in communities such as Sudbury, North Bay and Timmins provide a wide range of high quality products, including: LHD loaders, jumbo drills and underground utility vehicles, radio remote control systems for heavy equipment, 3-D geophysical surveys.
Ontario firms are world leaders in exploration research, mine planning, automation, communications, environmental disciplines, deep mining and other areas vital to the success of modern worldwide operations.
Ontario's R&D tax incentive program is one of the most generous in the world. When tax credits are factored in, the after-tax cost of $100 in R&D spending can be reduced to less than $41.
Colleges and universities in Ontario's North offer specialized education and training programs to support the growing mining equipment and services sector, from mining technology to geology, engineering, robotics, satellite imaging and international business.
